陽 (yō) "aydınlık, bariz, pozitif, eril, güneş" + の (no) "tamlama partikeli" + 構え (kamae) "duruş, postür, hazır duruş". Kılıcı saklamak ister gibi arka sağ tarafa indirip vücudun sol tarafının önde bırakıldığı duruş. Kılıcın ucu tam arkaya bakar.
Explanation:
陽 (yō) "light, open, positive, masculine, the sun" + の (no) "compound particle" + 構え (kamae) "stance, posture, a ready stance". Stance in which the sword is lowered to the right back side as if hiding it from the sight of the opponent. The left half of the body in front and the tip of the sword directing backwards.
